Tony Anthony, Retired Businessman in larger Monadnock area. Five different careers, including Insurance. Currently Junior Warden at All Saint’s Episcopal Church, Peterborough, NH. Serves on a variety of boards.
Barbara Cochrane, (Treasurer), B.S. in Computer Science, original Incorporator for Horse Power. Customer Service, Digital Equipment Corporation for 18 years; Director Customer Service for Opus 2 Revenue Technologies for 8 years. Currently Manager of Call Center, Information Technology support to students, faculty and staff at the University of NH. Former horse owner, equine business owner and active horse enthusiast.
Deirdre Clark, Retired Registered Nurse, Taught in Nursing School, Worked in Family Practice Medicine for 25 plus years. Nurse Manager of extensive practice. Board Member of Brain Injury Association of NH. Currently serves on the Family Advisory Council for Crotched Mountain Rehabilitation Hospital. Chair of Fundraising Committee for Horse Power Fall Event.
Joanne Burdett Dion, M.Ed. in Educational Administration form Rivier College,
Background in Elementary and Special Education, Taught at Nashua Children’s Home since 1979. Currently serving as the Educational Director for Nashua Children’s Home. Currently working on joint Research Project with the University of Texas School of Social Work Research and Horse Power scheduled to begin in Spring of 2008.
Christy Greene, BA double major in Sociology and Psychology at Drew
University, Master of Social Work degree from the University of Pennsylvania. Currently Clinical director of Antrim Girls’ Shelter, a state run facility for troubled adolescent girls which attend Horse Power classes. Presenter for the Horse Power Instructor Training School. Co-wrote and published article in Journal of School Social Work on “Grief and Therapeutic Horseback Riding.” Worked in the field of Child and Family services for the last 30 years. Member of Mariposa Museum. Past member of Con val School Board for 8 years, Peterborough Youth Soccer League, Living Network, Inc., Youth Services of the Monadnock Region for 10 plus years, Dublin Board of Adjustment.
The Right Reverend Donald Hart is the retired Episcopal Bishop of Hawaii,
where he served in the ‘80’s and ‘90s, before returning to his roots in New England. He was educated at Williams College and the Episcopal Divinity School. He and his family spent almost twenty years in Alaska, serving several churches, and then came to Keene, NH as rector of St. James’. He has served on many non-profit boards, including schools and as co-founder of the Parenting Center in Fairbanks, Alaska, a group concerned with abused and neglected children. He is currently a Trustee of Crotched Mountain Foundation. He has served on the Board of Horse Power since 2003, and is a volunteer in the therapeutic driving program.
David Herrick, PhD., Founder and owner of Herrick Technology Labs in 2000, currently employs 20 people doing R&D for Dept. of Defense. Sanders Technology for 20 years. Doctorate in Electrical Engineering. Active carriage driver.
Elizabeth Herrick, Wife and Mother, Volunteering for HP for five years. Active driver and rider. Member Granite State Carriage Driving Club, American Driving Society, Maine Driving Club, Mass. Carriage, Colonial Carriage & Driving Society, New England Region of the Carriage Driving Association of America.
John Kieley, a native of southern New Hampshire, holds a Bachelors degree from Norwich University and a Masters from the University of Michigan’s Graduate School of Business Administration. A Fellow of the Society of Actuaries, John spent his career in financial consulting in both Boston and New York. He retired in 2004 as an owner with Hewitt Associates, now a NYSE listed company. John now serves on several municipal and not-for-profit boards. John and his wife Connie live in Temple and own Temple Highlands, LLC, a conservation based land investment company.
Paul Martin is a co-founder of Four Winds Community, a life sharing initiative with adults who have developmental disabilities. Paul and his wife, Astrid, run Four Winds Community’s licensed residential care homes in Temple and Wilton. They participate with their residents in the Horse Power therapeutic riding program. Paul has worked in the not-for-profit sector since 1987 and presently serves on four not-for-profit boards, two as treasurer and one as president. He is also a member of the Town of Temple Capital Improvements Program Committee and is a presenter for the Horse Power Instructor Training School.
Howard H. Russell, Ed.D, BA from University of Denver, BD University of Chicago, MS Communication Research of Boston, MA, Minister of the First Congregational Church, Instructional Designer and Developer for the Northeastern Division for the Congregational Church. Management Consultant for Insurance Companies, designing staff training and development materials. Currently, Chairman of the board for the Littleton Council for the Aging.
