HORSE POWER SPRING LESSON PROGRAM
DATES: Monday, March 24th to Friday, May 30th. LESSONS CANCELED DURING THE WEEK OF APRIL VACATION (DATES: April 21st to April 25th) Please email or call 603-654-6308 for more information.THE FARM BASED EDUCATION PROGRAM
DATES: Begins April 2008An exciting new offering is the result of two years worth of work. Field trips may be scheduled from the first of April until June 13th. The field trip will be geared to children ages 4 to 10. Small animals to include rabbits, guinea pigs, Bantam chickens, laying hens, ducks, miniature horses, a donkey, goats, sheep and pigs. Curriculum and hands on learning exhibits will be available to make this not only great fun but a real educational, learning experience. So, bring your classroom, your nursery school or your play group and have a blast in the barnyard with our warm, welcoming and well trained farm animal educators.
COST: $12 a child, with a $100 minimum. Chaperones are required on a ratio of 1 chaperone for every 4 children, unless the children are very young. Chaperone‘s come for free and get our big thanks for helping!
FATHER DAUGHTER WEEKEND
DATES: April 4th to the 6thArrival time is between 5 & 8pm on Friday with departure following a late lunch on Sunday. Welcome in springtime together. The weather is getting great, the riding trails are open and the rings are inviting. Whether you are an avid rider or carriage driver, want to go on one peaceful trail ride and then read the paper, or want to try everything the area has to offer in hiking, biking, running or vaulting, let us give you a terrific time with your daughter. Bring Grand Dad along too! Families with children with challenges are welcome in grand style. Great food, fun obstacle course, bonfire and marshmallows. Plenty of time to do nothing too! It won’t be very long before ‘she won’t want to go away with dear old Dad’. Seize the moment and join us for a great time.
COST: $300 per person, includes 2 nights, all meals and activities except therapeutic massage or Reiki (30 to 90 minute sessions) For a third person, the fee is $200. Payable to Pony Farm.
ADULT “RIDING & DRIVING GET AWAY“ SPRING WEEKEND
DATES: April 11th to the 13thArrival is between 5 & 8PM on Friday and after late lunch on Sunday. Find yourself always on the ground doing barn work, teaching, planning, fixing fence or organizing staff? Has your own riding taken a back seat to the work? Have you not been able to find just that right horse to feel safe and secure to get back into the saddle. Do you want to have the experience of driving a lot of horses? We have just the thing for you. Let the Horse Power and Pony Farm team of excellent instructors help you ‘get a leg up’ with your own riding or driving. Let us help you prepare to do the riding portion of the NARHA Registered or Advanced Instructor Certification or the NARHA Therapeutic Driving Instructor Certification. While you are here, avail yourself of the hot tub, get a therapeutic massage, enjoy a trail ride down the dirt roads. just kick back and enjoy good home cooked meals, a tasty glass of wine and a comfy bed all with fellow horse lovers. ***NARHA THERAPEUTIC DRIVING INSTRUCTOR CERTIFICATION PREP COURSE.
DATES: April 21st to 23rdJoin the wonderful members of our Horse Power Therapeutic Driving Club as they team up to help YOU prepare to take and pass the NARHA Therapeutic Driving Instructor Certification (offered at Horse Power in August 2008). Harness until it is second nature. Drive a wide variety of ponies and horses to get used to driving all types of vehicles and with all types of horses. We have 15 driving horses, from 7 hands small to 17 hands tall. Let us give you the confidence to drive in and out of a ring, through an obstacle course, around a cones course or with ease in a dressage test. We want to help promote and encourage therapeutic driving. We hope you will join us! Cost for workshop is $300, payable to Horse Power. Lodging and full Breakfast and Dinner, Same as above for the Business Workshop. Presentations at night so on site lodging is recommended but not required. Payable to Pony Farm.
SPRING FLING FAMILY FARM WEEKEND
DATES: May 2nd to May 4th
COST: $300 per person, includes 2 night stays, all meals and activities except therapeutic massage or Reiki (30 to 90 minute sessions). For a third person, the fee is $200. Payable to Pony Farm.
HORSE POWER SPRING LESSON HORSE SHOW
DATE: Saturday, May 31st (THIS IS NOT MEMORIAL DAY WEEKEND!)Designed for all riders, adults, and children who have participated in the Horse Power Spring Lesson Program. Each student is grouped according to age and ability. A great judge who is fun, funny and encouraging; helpful show staff; fun announcing; spectator seating and a great food truck, not to mention trophies and ribbons. Make this a terrific day of family fun for all ages. Small animal barn and swing set/play area open for visits!
COST: Included in the fee for the Spring Lesson Series

DATES: Wednesday, June 4th.Limited scholarships available. Designed for those who are thinking about starting a business or have been in business for a year or two and its not going so well. Let us help you get started on the right foot or let us help you gain new information to help you run your business better. Lots of presentations by seasoned horse professionals on a variety of topics. Everything from Mission and Vision statements, to branding, PR and marketing, to business contracts that work for boarding, lessons, sales and leasing. Lots about staffing and organizational development. Small group discussions to gain a circle of support to individualized attention. Leave with a personal development plan for your business and a notebook chock full of great information to help you succeed!
COST: $300 per person, includes program, workbook and continental breakfast and lunch. 25% reduction for 2nd attendee from same program. 50% reduction for 3rd attendee. Free for 4th attendee. Scholarships available through the generosity of Fieldstone Foundation. Payable to Horse Power. DATES: June 2nd to June 4thHorse Power will host a traditional on site workshop and certification for Those wishing to become NARHA certified at the Registered level. This certification will be geared to those who teach EFMH students as so many of the students that will be asked to serve as lesson students have mental health or learning challenges. This is a good opportunity to stretch toward achieving riding instructor certification if you are primarily an EFMH instructor. Please see NARHA website for more specific details. Participants sign up directly with the NARHA office. Workshop fees go to NARHA.
COST: Lodging fee is payable to Pony Farm. $75 per night for shared room (up to 4); $100 per night for double room; $125 per night for single room (if available). Includes all three meals.
“HORSES AND HEALING” SYMPOSIUM
DATES: Thursday June 5th - Saturday June 7thSo many more details will come but this is one of the highlights of our year. Our speakers are all by invitation only.We invite all the best people doing the highest quality of work in the field with a flair, integrity and creativity. What we have to offer that makes us unique is that you will see ‘live’ hands-on demonstrations with horses and students. You will see the work come to life. This is not sitting around a hotel conference room watching some slides or power points, this is the real work in action. Done with respect and to honor confidentiality. It is not to be missed. If you only do one event with us, this is the one to do! On site lodging and meals, easy access to the airport and a good shuttle make this a real get away with a purpose. HORSE POWER’S “BARN YARD BUDDIES” SUMMER DAY CAMP BEGINS.
This is a fantastic series of week long day camps for children with special needs. Different sessions feature different levels of abilities and programming. Call the farm office so we can find just the right session for your child, whether she is 5 or 45! We will have a good horse, lots of small animals, great outdoor activities for beautiful days, and plenty of good cover and fun inside for the rainy ones.Let us give your child the experience of his summer.SESSION 1: June 23rd to 27th

NARHA THERAPEUTIC DRIVING INSTRUCTOR WORKSHOP AND CERTIFICATION CLINIC.
DATES: Friday August 22nd to Tuesday August 26th.This excellent three day workshop, followed by two day certification is designed to educate and then certify therapeutic driving instructors at one of two levels. On site lodging, active driving lesson program and lots of driving horses and carriages, makes this a fun, encouraging and information packed workshop. “Let’s not let the kids have all the fun”!DATES: August 28th to September 1st
LEAVE WORK EARLY AND TAKE A LONG WEEKEND TO ENJOY RIDING AND THE COMING OF FALL. ADULTS ONLY.
Arrival time is between 5 & 8PM on Wednesday evening and departure time is following a late lunch on Monday, Labor Day.
Let us give you the riding and horse experience of your life time. Includes lots of lessons, dressage, Centered Riding, Balance seat, Western or Natural Horsemanship. Carriage driving lessons are also a possibility. Drive or ride our super horses, safe, fun, easy and well trained. Excellent, encouraging and friendly instructors. Let us help you get back in the saddle or the carriage seat and get ready take and pass your NARHA instructor certification for either riding or driving. Down time too to sit on the porch and rock, watching the horses graze. Small farm animal barns ready for your visit. All Day Picnic ride or silly horse show at end are also possibilities. HORSE POWER INSTRUCTOR TRAINING SCHOOL FALL SESSION
DATES: Begins on Wednesday September 3rd and ends on Wednesday November 12th.This information packed experience is one of Horse Power’s signature dishes. It is an excellent way for those wishing to gain experience and certification in the world of therapeutic riding, driving, vaulting and horsemanship. Let us partner with you as we all partner with the horses to deliver a wide array of lessons to people of all ages, challenges, strengths and courage. Lots of riding, driving, vaulting, hiking and playing on the farm-Plenty of animals to enjoy. See the pumpkins, gourds and sunflowers that we planted. Take some home with you. Enjoy the fall foliage and generally relax and unwind with us. Let’s pick some apples, make apple juice, enjoy the fall craft fairs and generally have a blast.

FALL ‘FESTIVAL OF DRIVING’
DATES: Friday October 10th to October 12thExciting plans are being made to have this be one of the premier fall pleasure drives for carriage enthusiasts. We are working on a long lovely driving trail of between 5 and 10 miles, all on scenic dirt roads through the countryside of fall foliage. We hope to have a twilight drive, complete with beverage stop, with all drivers sporting old fashioned costumes. Also, a fun ride, drive and jump class, a poker relay, a timed cones course and more fun & games, with great prizes. Topped off with a lovely elegant dinner with lots of fun presentations and even some awards. Look on our website for more details as to this fun event hosted in collaboration with many driving clubs throughout New England. With on site stabling and lodging for “man and beast.“
“HOW TO START AN EQUINE BUSINESS”
DATES: October 31st to November 2ndWhether you are a therapeutic riding program getting under way, a general horse business, an Equine Body Work student getting started or a farm wanting to expand, here is a great way to learn in a friendly, supportive atmosphere with lots of excited and helpful faculty who want to help you to succeed! You will leave with a head full of ideas, lots of specific information, a notebook of forms and templates, and lots of new friends. Avail yourself to our team of consultants and advisors who are seasoned professionals who have done farms and horses. Let us support you in your organizational development. We want to help you succeed and keep farms alive here in the US!
