HPITS THREE MONTH COURSE

We feel it is very important for you to get a good sense of what we do each and every week during the three months. We want you to know all the information you will gain. We are most proud of this detailed schedule. Over the last five years of doing the Horse Power Instructor Training School, we have worked out the wrinkles and created this extensive experience for our Instructor Training Candidates. With careful thought, input from the national instructor certification committee and extensive feedback from graduates both as they left and following a year or two in the field, we bring you this schedule. We hope it helps you decide that you want to come to do your training at Horse Power.

We would also like to note that several times we have had a candidate who came with extensive teaching, riding or horsemanship experience. We do our very best to “waive” some of the material that they know from experience and “plump up” some of the work they feel that they need. For example, if someone comes as a school teacher with a great deal of experience in Special Education or Learning Disabilities, but not much horse experience, we would beef up the riding and horse handling for her and waive her out of some of the lectures on learning disabilities. We want each and every person to get what they need and we are small enough to be able to individualize in this way.
